This was one of our "splurge" items (we LOVE desserts, who doesn't?).  Buttercream of St. Paul, MN won our hearts and mouths over with the first bite at our taste testing.  So they will have the honor of making our wedding cake. :) We are having a 4 tier round cake and love the white on white (ivory on ivory?) swirl design.  It's going to be exactly like the picture below except with navy ribbon and without the flowers on top.

Cake update:  We picked our flavors!!  Half the cake will be one flavor and the other half another.  It was soooo hard to choose because they were all delicious, but we decided on: Raspberry Royale and Bailey's Irish Creme Chocolate! :)  Just reading their descriptions makes me hungry...

Raspberry Royale: Very pretty in pink, raspberry mousse and fresh raspberries fill the layers of our white cake and white mousse finishes this delicacy.

Bailey's Irish Creme Chocolate: Dark and rich chocolate cake, moistened with Bailey's liquor and filled with our chocolate Irish creme mousse. This cake is then iced with more Bailey's mousse and topped with dark chocolate shavings.

Cake Topper?  Nope.

Mark likes the idea of having a traditional cake topper.. I'm not sure about it yet.  I know I don't want any flowers on the cake.

We decided no on the cake topper.  A simple but elegant cake is more our style.  I never understood why you would want to put real flowers all over something you eat.
